Master's student representative
Madahí Mejía is passionate about community health development and the multidisciplinary field of global health. She holds a B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Weber State University, US. Madahí has worked as a generalist medical lab tech in several states of the US, as a biosafety manager in Malaria molecular research lab in Guatemala, and in the summer of 2022, She performed an internship with The World Health Organization in assessing biosafety and quality control protocols in several laboratories of public hospitals in Guatemala for budgeting allocation and equipment donation. Madahí is currently a student in the M.Sc. of Global Health at Karolinska Institutet and she is extremely grateful for this opportunity.
Master's student representative
Tong Shih-Chen is a MCs student in Bioentrepreneurship at Karolinska Institute. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare system management in China medical university. With the active participation in student unions back in her bachelor’s degree, she has several experience in handling clinical trials projects and also enthusiastic about how to improve the regulatory environment for bioscience related SMEs.
PhD student representative
Hager Saleh is a Ph.D. student in Global Public Health at Karolinska Institute. Her research focuses on antimicrobial resistance, digital health, and pharmacovigilance. Hager has obtained a master's degree in Health Informatics from Karolinska Institute, and a master's degree in Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoepidemiology from Université de Bordeaux in France. She has also earned a Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Alexandria University, Egypt. Before starting her studies at Karolinska Institute Hager was a lecturer of Healthcare Management at Umm Al-Qura University, Saudi Arabia. Prior to that, she was a hospital pharmacist at Alexandria Fever Hospital, Egypt.

Romana Höltschl was a MSc student in Health Economics, Policy and Management at Karolinska Institutet. She has a Bachelor's degree in European Public Health from Maastricht University and previous experience in public policy and consulting. Currently, she is interested in the causes of health inequities and global health diplomacy.

Nguyen Thi Hoang Ha was a MSc student in Public Health Epidemiology at Karolinska Institutet. She has a Bachelor's degree in Preventive Medicine from Hanoi Medical University in Hanoi, Vietnam. She is interested in antimicrobial resistance, infectious diseases, and One Health-related issue.

Master's student representative
Lord Tadesse Mekonnen is pursuing an MSc in Global Health at Uppsala University, complementing his Ethiopian medical degree. His co-founding and leadership of Kalkidan Children's Health Care Charity Organization in Addis Ababa showcased his dedication to equitable healthcare. His involvement in COVID-19 response reflects his crisis management ingenuity. With keen interests in Epidemic Preparedness, Migration Health, and global nutrition initiatives, Lord's diverse experiences and enthusiasm underscore his potential for impactful contributions to public health research, poised to address pressing global health challenges with a holistic perspective.
Master's student representative
Louis Kibathi is a student in the Master’s Program in Global Health at Uppsala University. A pharmacist by training, Louis holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy and a Master of Pharmacy in pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacovigilance from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He is health equity crusader with a focus on health systems strengthening in underserved communities. He has, among other areas, previously worked with the Ministry of Health in Kenya to formulate and implement the Integrated Community Case Management strategy in rural parts of the country, with a tremendous impact on reducing under-5 mortality. When not thinking about public health, Louis is a voracious reader, with the works of Leo Tolstoy, Pablo Neruda and F. Scott Fitzgerald among his favorite.

Lamessa K. Jalata was an MSc student in Global Health at Uppsala University. He has a bachelor’s degree in Medicine from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. His most significant achievement thus far is what he was able to accomplish for the community with Waliif Health Care S.C working as board of directors. Furthermore, he has previous experience as clinical governance and quality improvement officer in Ethiopia. Prior to that, he worked as a Medical director at Amaya primary hospital, Ethiopia. He has been a member and executive committee of the Oromia physician association and he is very interested in Non communicable disease and Migration health.

Alina Rachiteanu was a MSc student in Global Health at Uppsala University. Before starting her studies in Uppsala, she got a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from St George’s, University of London. Her current interests include migration health and the link between the environment and health.
